Magical light for the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World Resorts

On October 1, 2021, the Beacon of Magic will be realized in honor of Walt Disney World Resorts’ 50th Anniversary as part of “The World’s Most Magical Celebration”. Spaceship Earth and other icons will come to life at night with their special glow at each Walt Disney World theme park.

Special “points of light” on Spaceship Earth in EPCOT

After a test a few weeks ago, the first “points of light” have been installed on Spaceship Earth at EPCOT as part of the icon’s new nighttime lighting package. Walt Disney Imagineering has spent the last month getting a closer look at the lights, which will be installed in a grid between Spaceship Earth’s Alucobond panels.
 
Right now, the lights are mainly installed near the top of Spaceship Earth. Currently, there are about 46 lights installed, which look especially magical in the dark.
