3D LED Installation at the Center am Potsdamer Platz – New Approaches to Digital Brand Presentation
Tennagels Medientechnik GmbH installed a large-format 3D LED display at the Center am Potsdamer Platz in Berlin for innovative brand communication.
A large-format LED installation, specifically designed for displaying 3D content, was installed at the Center am Potsdamer Platz in Berlin. The installation is part of the site’s redesign and blends seamlessly into the existing architecture as a striking media element. Its size and technical design create an eye-catching platform for digital content in public spaces.
Given its size and location, the LED wall ranks among the most prominent advertising mediums in Germany and underscores the growing importance of digital outdoor advertising in high-traffic downtown locations.
Immersive Visual Impact
The use of three-dimensional content fundamentally changes the way traditional advertising spaces are perceived. Targeted 3D animations create the impression of depth and movement, making content appear to extend from the surface into the space. This visual dynamism ensures that messages are grasped more quickly and remembered for longer.
This effect plays a crucial role, especially in urban environments with a high density of information. Content must capture attention within a very short time—immersive displays offer a clear advantage here, as they stand out visually and leave a lasting impression.
Technical Implementation at the Highest Level
The LED wall was specifically tailored to the requirements of 3D content. Its size, resolution, and viewing angles are coordinated to achieve an optimal sense of depth. With a total area of approximately 243 m² and dimensions of about 40.5 x 6 meters, it is one of the largest installations of its kind in Germany.
As part of the center’s architectural redesign, the installation is integrated into the inner courtyard and serves as a central visual element. The corner-spanning design allows for different perspectives on the content and enhances the spatial impact of the 3D displays.
The LED technology used, featuring several million pixels, ensures a high level of detail and brilliant image quality. It is only through the precise interplay of brightness, contrast, and motion sequences that the content achieves its realistic effect and creates the desired sense of depth.
New Opportunities for Brand Communication
The installation opens up new avenues for companies to showcase brand messages in public spaces. Initial campaigns by international brands such as Coca-Cola and L’Oréal demonstrate how effectively products and content can be presented in three dimensions.
Furthermore, such installations offer significant potential for digital reach: eye-catching content is often photographed or filmed and shared on social media. This creates an additional presence that extends beyond the actual location.
Part of a Global Trend
Innovative 3D LED installations of this kind are already well established internationally in major cities such as Tokyo, New York, and London. With the project at Potsdamer Platz, this innovative form of advertising is now being taken to a new level in Germany as well.
For tennagels, the project represents another important step in the implementation of complex media technology solutions that combine technology, architecture, and content.
