Kö-Bogen II

Kö-Bogen 2 impresses with Europe's largest green facade and high-tech "MediaWall"

Innovation and sustainability in the heart of Düsseldorf

Kö-Bogen 2 - A symbol of architectural brilliance and ecological responsibility

Green architectural wonder in the center of Düsseldorf

Europe’s largest green façade is presented in the heart of Düsseldorf at the Kö-Bogen 2 business and office complex. For the business and office building, which is currently Europe’s largest green facade with more than 30,000 hornbeam hedge plants, we have developed a 70-meter-long “MediaWall”, which is concealed behind the building’s glass façade and has a surface area of 350 square meters. This innovative media installation is not only designed with a special focus on careful building cleaning, but is also a symbol of sustainability and technological progress.

Conversion to a car-free shopping mile boosts Düsseldorf's attractiveness

The transformation of Schadowstrasse

Schadowstrasse, which is located in the middle of this urban hub, is currently undergoing a comprehensive renovation that will transform it into a car-free shopping mile. Here, along the northern Königsallee in the city center district, you will find a variety of stores, department stores, cafés, restaurants and flagship stores of well-known brands. This dynamic environment attracts a wide range of visitors, from business people to shoppers and tourists.

A commitment to environmental friendliness paired with state-of-the-art technology

Streamliner - Technological pioneer

Thanks to the 8mm pixel pitch, the 67.2 meter wide and 4.32 meter high LED wall achieves a
impressive level of detail, which ensures convincing reproduction even from a great distance
of images and videos is permitted. But it’s not just the picture quality that makes the LED wall so impressive.
It also sets new standards in terms of efficiency. Thanks to its ultra-modern technology, it features
low power consumption, which makes them not only environmentally friendly, but also
cost-friendly in operation.
A modern LED controlling system ensures that the advertising content is displayed perfectly. A
Intelligent evaluation of the light sensors, which are also connected to the controlling system
the brightness of the LED wall automatically adjusts to the ambient brightness. This is how
ensures optimum visibility at all times and prevents any adverse effects on the surroundings.

Customized integration and ease of maintenance of LED walls in modern architecture

Intelligent monitoring and control of media installations

Comprehensive software on the media server, in conjunction with a PLC control system,
monitors and controls all functions of the media installation. This ranges from the
Temperature monitoring of the LED cabinets, via the automatic brightness adjustment to the
Ambient brightness, including emergency shutdown in the event of smoke or overheating.
Since the LED wall is installed in an enclosed space, a special
ventilation system, which ensures optimum air circulation and heat dissipation. For
additional operational safety, the entire system is equipped with camera monitoring,
to ensure a comprehensive overview at all times.
As the LED wall was not installed in the building until later, the challenge was to ensure that this
had to fit perfectly into the appearance of the architecture. Therefore, the installation did not take place at
the facade, but was fitted precisely to a ceiling track behind the glass facade
set. Another important point on the part of the customer was the easy accessibility to the
glass surfaces to be able to carry out cleaning work. For this purpose, individual elements of the LED
wall from each other and then moved.
