Plant routing goes digital

In December 2022, LED specialist tennagels Medientechnik GmbH modernized the almost 50m² LED systems at the plant of the technology company with a focus on metal and plastics processing SCHÜTZ GmbH & Co. KGaA modernized.

The pylons, which were once designed as analog LED displays, have undergone a fundamental technological overhaul. By using outdoor LED screens with a pixel pitch of 3.9 mm, it is now possible to react dynamically to the changing access traffic at the plant. However, the systems are not only used for routing in general, but can also be used proactively for self-promotion and employer branding. The enormous brightness of the LEDs themselves, which are rated at more than 6,000nit, ensures that the pylons remain clearly legible both at night and in direct sunlight. Sophisticated sensor technology ensures that the system can react to direct light irradiation depending on the situation, which promises a clear advantage in terms of performance acceptance and the service life of the system itself.

Digitalization starts on the inside

“Similar to our other projects, the systems at our customer SCHÜTZ GmbH & Co. KGaA to ensure that the advancing digitalisation is visible to outsiders. In addition, at a time when the shortage of skilled labour is slowing down entire industries, it is necessary to draw attention to yourself and show that you are moving with the times. The pylons in the factory also show that modern LED systems alone are not the saviour. The symbiosis of the hardware and the right content is what ultimately turns the system into the tool that provides our customers with the necessary added value.” So Kai Rath (Key Account Manager – tennagels Medientechnik GmbH).
